a nostalgic trip to the bronx

I finally made it to the Bronx Documentary Center! The show was Martha Cooper and actually took place in their Annex, so I guess I still haven’t been to the actual Bronx Documentary Center.

It was staged really well and my feelings of nostalgia were overwhelming. The only thing that was disappointing was that a lot of the artists were in attendance but I didn’t know who they were, so I feel like I missed out on what I think was a major part of the experience. I waited patiently to take a picture with Martha but she was of course pulled away right before it was my turn. I managed to awkwardly pat her shoulder and tell her I love her work, which she graciously acknowledged.

I went with a friend and arrived early so I made it through the displays before her. It got super crowded and I was climbing the walls until she was ready to leave.

The Annex space is raw and airy, perfect for Profe. Just sayin.
